Thor Colberg was born in New Haven, CT, and Bonnie was born in Charleston, SC. Thus ended the War Between the States.
Thor accepted the challenge of following Jesus while at Furman University through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. After graduation, he went on to complete a Masters of Divinity at Emory University, and became a United Methodist Pastor. That same year after two dates, he asked Bonnie to marry him. They then spent the next 13 years in the Methodist church.
In 1987, God called Thor, Bonnie and their three kids to plant a Vineyard in Augusta, GA, which started in their home with a handful of people. Over the next 16 years the church grew to over 750 people and planted five churches.
In 2003, Thor and Bonnie felt like the Lord said, “Do it again!” They turned the Augusta Vineyard over to their Executive Pastor and launched out to Charlotte. Worship Celebrations began in January 2004. Many wonderful people have joined in and the Vineyard North Charlotte has already planted two churches: Charleston, SC, and Palm Spring, FL. On the international stage we have planted 5 Vineyard’s in Ukraine, along with 80 plus churches in Ethiopia and South Sudan.
Thor is also on staff with Global Training Network which is impacting thousands in Africa and Eastern Europe. Follow Thor at his blog at ThorColberg.org

Tyler grew up moving around the beach towns of south Florida and Rachel was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. They ended up meeting the first day of school at Lee University in Cleveland, TN, where they both became involved in leading a ministry club and campus church. After graduating in 2008, the couple were married and became very involved as volunteers at staff-level leadership with the Vineyard Chattanooga where they were able to get great ministry and leadership experience in almost every aspect of the church.
Discovering a shared heart for seeing people connecting with God and community through the local church, as well as a desire to see God’s Kingdom come, Rachel and Tyler felt that full-time ministry would be a part of their future. In the fall of 2012, Tyler got a call from Thor, whom he had met at a regional Vineyard youth camp years earlier, about an associate pastor job at the Vineyard North Charlotte. After visiting and interviewing, Rachel and Tyler felt that Charlotte was where God was leading them for the next step in their journey, and they moved to Huntersville in January 2013. They are both incredibly excited to be a part of what God is doing in and through the Vineyard in the North Charlotte area!
